ExamYetiComparison
A Quizlet alternative for certification exam practice
Quizlet and Anki are good flashcard apps. If you're studying for a certification, though, your material is usually multiple-choice questions and your problem is the clock. That is the one job ExamYeti is built for.
The short version
- Choose ExamYeti if you have a set of multiple-choice practice questions and want to take them as timed exams.
- Choose Quizlet if you want term-and-definition cards, or to browse sets other people have made.
- Choose Anki if you want spaced repetition over months and don't mind setting it up.
Plenty of people use two of them: flashcards for facts, and an exam simulator for practice exams.

When ExamYeti is the better fit
Your material is questions, not terms
A practice question has a stem, four or five options and one correct answer. Squeezing that onto the front and back of a flashcard loses the part that matters: choosing between plausible options. ExamYeti keeps questions as questions.
You need to practice the clock
Flashcards have no time pressure. A timed practice exam shows you whether you can finish, and where you slow down.
You'd rather pay once
Most people study for a certification for a couple of months and then stop. The 90-day pass is a single payment with no renewal. See pricing.
When to stay with Quizlet or Anki
- You're memorising vocabulary, ports, acronyms or definitions.
- You want sets that someone else has already made.
- You're studying over many months and want spaced repetition to schedule reviews.
- Your notes have no questions in them. ExamYeti doesn't generate questions.
